C-Suite & Executive Coaching
Getting to the Top. Staying at the Top.
It's lonely at the top. Everyone is watching. Waiting.
It has taken you years to get close to the top or to the top. One mistake could cost you it all. You know that many of the smiles around you are fickle... or fake.
Your spouse wants to talk about ANYTHING but your work, but... you need to decompress, vent and bounce ideas with someone you can trust, who can be privy to your secrets and the decisions you have to make.
Who can you trust with confidential details? Who will give you robust, objective, disinterested advice? Who can be on your side, in your team? Your consigliere?
Leaders hire me for one or more of the labels and services listed below. But they all value the open conversations, the frank advice, the total allegiance.
"... I tell you things my wife doesn't want to hear, and I don't want to tell my Chairman or my Board. You offer massive additional value when we "chat" about leadership, trends, ideas, strategy, MY business challenges. Engaging people is part of storytelling and leadership, but your leadership coaching is not standard or off-the-shelf ... "

Leadership Development
Being a leader has never been this challenging. Imposter syndrome is unsurprising - whatever your level of experience. Who has seen such turbulent and uncertain times? You may be aware of your "development areas" - others may want to test them. You want to quietly plug those gaps, build your defences, become a better leader.
Storytelling & Speaker Coaching
As a leader you are the chief storytelling officer of your organisation. You must persuade multiple stakeholders. Financial analysts and the City - people who can affect your share price. Talented people who can join your organisation or your competition. You must be focused, tell great stories well and be clear concise and compelling.
Strategy & Vision...
Successfully bullet-proofing and communicating your strategy and vision is key to your success. Clarity of thought and clarity of communication. Working on your communication and storytelling with me often flags up areas that need attention and lack focus. Leaders sometimes also benefit from my cross-industry storytelling experience.
Startups & Investment Support
Raising money for a startup is binary - you get the term sheet or you don't. You get a bank transfer and you can pay people, or you don't. You can do the "real work" because you have the resources you need, or you don't. How do you get from email to coffee pitch/chat to GP meeting to term sheet - on terms & conditions you want?
Nonprofit & Charity Fundraising
Telling the story of your organisation in a compelling way is key to the success of your organisation. Weathy people are sick of being bombarded with dull pitches for worthy causes. You need to stand out more than ever before. How can you tell the story of your organisation in a clear compelling and differentiated way?
How does this type of Bespoke Leadership Coaching work?
"...Because of your CEO experience, talking to a broad range of people across different industries, cultures and countries, you do offer huge value, apart from the mind-blowing storytelling and speaker coaching... if you think about it, most of our conversations are more than 50% of a non-communications nature... mainly talking about people and stakeholders... " N - CEO
The Offer for the Chief - Business leaders come with various titles CEO, CFO, COO, CMO, CTO etc...
Consigliere. Mentor. Coach. Private Non-Exec. Hagrid. Obi-Wan/Ben Kenobi. I have been called all of these labels by the business leaders I have worked with. Plus some ruder ones. I get it. Where else can you vent? Everyone wants to be a better communicator, speaker and storyteller - who is arrogant enough to believe they are unable to improve? But they come to me because they want more. Some business leaders come to me as new CEOs who want to build specific leadership skills, some are experienced CEOs navigating turbulent times who want a sounding board, some are less experienced CEOs moving up who like to talk things through and clarify their thinking. Some want a mix of these things. All want and value discretion.
We agree a programme of work which is usually built around important scheduled internal events - Board Meetings, AGMs, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings, All Hands/Townhalls etc or external events which are often unscheduled - Government bodies or Ministers, the media, finance analysts, pitches and presentations.
We work work out when and how and how frequently we will meet. Calendards shift and there is build in flexibility - even at short notice. We communicate directly via WhatsApp and we are able to override diaries at short notice.
When?
Time is our scarcest resource. Because I only work with a handful of clients, I am able to offer you bespoke coaching and also fit in with your schedule. One global CEO prefers working with me on a Sunday morning at his London home. A U.K. CEO spends an inordinate amount of time in a car and likes talking through issues while driving. One Chicago-based CEO starts his Tuesdays with me. A California CMO starts alternating Sundays with me. A Seattle CEO has their mid-week morning with me. Some like a set-in-stone fixed routine while some prefer more ad-hoc scheduling. We decide what suits you. Bespoke means bespoke. Being flexible and fitting in with you means just that.
Where?
Location. This is a premium service, limited to a handful of clients who understandably prefer to have direct face to face access, where possible.
In person coaching: we can work in your office, your home or at my Central London base - the closest tube is Westminster.
" ... because of the value I put on your input, I would happily travel to you or pay you to travel to me... I think the quality, breadth and depth of those in-person conversations with you is always 10 times 20 times better..."
Hybrid coaching: If you don't live within range of Central London we could do a hybrid of in-person and online, or purely online. Clients have flown me out to meet them in places like Dubai and California with subsequent work being conducted online.
Online coaching: If in-person isn't feasible, we can always work together online. I used to coach international clients with Skype but now I prefer Zoom or Teams. This works really well and I frequently coach people in other countries and get great results with people I have never met in person.
Coaching on the Phone: Phone is never as good as Teams or Zoom or in person so I would only suggest that in an emergency and once we already have worked with each other and got to know each other. I am very direct and this can be misunderstood or taken the wrong way in a phone call. However, some clients like thinking and talking while driving and speaking on the phone is great for that.
The Filtered Out Book Series
The (How not to be) Filtered Out interview books are useful at every stage in the interview process - for graduates wanting the best career start and those preparing for a big career move.
Many use them as gifts or stocking fillers for their kids, people they mentor or their P.A.'s or team members' children.
