I am a corporate, political and personal storyteller. My job is helping my clients Identify, Craft, Articulate and Deliver their narratives or stories.
Everybody and every organisation undersells themselves some of the time. You probably have. I certainly have! And because of this we miss out on business or promotions, come “second” in job interviews or lose elections.
When we come second, it is easy to blame circumstances, the competition, the judges, the jury, the electorate, the weather, the dog, the traffic or lack of sleep. In fact anybody or anything else. But often our story telling is at fault.
Winners realise that they must take responsibility. They spend time and effort identifying, preparing and polishing their narrative. Because they hate coming second. And they know that “good enough” seldom is.
